While it’s true that a gluten-free diet won’t miraculously shed unwanted pounds, many of my clients who switch to a grain-free diet find that they start losing fat at a much desired rate. When you cut out this inflammatory foodstuff, I think you’ll find the same to be true!
Gluten is arguably one of the most debated topics on the internet. Many people will say that it’s the demon incarnate, while the media backlash will argue that it’s just a fad that has no merit. But when you look at what gluten does in the body, and you understand the metabolic consequences of eating inflammatory foods (insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome are the first to come to mind) you will probably decide it’s time to try and eliminate this product from your diet. You won’t be disappointed!
While gluten may or may not be the worst thing in the world to consume (sugar is basically the top of my “don’t eat this crap” list, as well as polyunsaturated fats) a few months of cutting this out of your diet will lead to enhanced insulin sensitivity, reduced inflammation and yes, if you are religiously strict about it, fat loss that comes on slowly but surely.
Give it a try. That’s what I always tell people. The proof is in the pudding (a great sugar-free option to curb your cravings for sugar and wheat products) so give the gluten-free diet a shot, and give it a good 2 months, and come back here and tell me about your results!
